Y’all know I love me a cute rom-com book! This is probably the 4th or 5th book I’ve read by @alihazelwood and I really do like her style. All of her main characters are women in STEM fields (mainly in the science category) and they all end up with happily ever afters after going through a bit of drama. This one is a quick read with a sweet ending. And it to your reading list.

It’s time for another edition of what I finished reading and I’ve made it to book 25 of the year. I thought this book by @brandonsanderson was a cute and fun read. It is a little slow at times but has some twists and turns that keep you engaged. It’s not even 400 pages so it’s a pretty quick read. Overall a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ pick. And just like that I’m officially a mom of a kindergartner. I don’t know how we got here so quickly. It feels like he was just learning to walk and say his first first words and yet here we are - the smartest little boy with big ideas, opinions of his own, and excited to learn math. It’s time for another edition of what I finished

It’s time for another edition of what I finished reading and this month and today it’s “Under The Whispering Door“ by @TJKluneBooks.
This book definitely had me in my feels and is not for you if you get uncomfortable with topics about death. It took me a little under a month to read and that was because I had to put it down for my own health since thinking and reading about death gives me a little bit of anxiety. I just finished reading it last night, and I’m glad that I didn’t put it away because it ends up being such a heartwarming story and gives hope to what we wonder about when we die.
There’s a queer love story as well which doesn’t seem out of place. It’s not one of those books that’s “trying to be queer“, it’s just another layer in the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and if it sounds like it’s for you, you should definitely give it a read.

I finally finished my 23rd book of the year -“The Invention of Yesterday: A 50,000 Year History of Human Culture, Conflict and cConnection” by Tamim Ansary. If you are into history, this is a great read. The author does a great job of weaving together stories of European, Middle, Eastern, and Chinese history in a way that shows how the world is more connected than we really thought it was. It is a little bit much to get through which is why it took me almost all of July to finish it but if you’re history buff you want to pick up this book.

I actually beat and surpassed my goal of reading 2

I actually beat and surpassed my goal of reading 21 books this year with these two books. If you are into sci-fi/fairytales than The Lunar Chronicles books by @marissameyerauthor are a great addition to your book list. Book one is a take on Cinderella (called Cinder). Book two and three, which I read this month, continue the story through the eyes of Scarlet, which is a take on Little Red Riding Hood and Cress, a take on Rapunzel. I like the way these books are influenced by fairytales but also have a distinct story. If this is your sort of thing, I definitely suggest you check them out.
