Next weekend The Swirl and Sip Podcast is hosting our first event – a Virtual Vision Board Party. I’m not a resolutions person but I am a goal-setting person and I do have a vision for 2021. I’ve already started putting pen to paper and have been writing down some of the things I want to accomplish this year. If you’re into vision boarding or want to set realistic goals here are some tips to help you get started.
Visualization
Visualizing the life you want is a strong motivator. If you can see how you want to live your life, you’re more likely to focus on the things to get your life that way. Olympic athletes use visualization to enhance their performance. So go ahead and day dream about what you want your life to look like!
Focus on Your Feelings
There are no rules when it comes to vision boarding but the biggest thing to focus on is what you’re feeling. Identify your core values and set goals that align with those values. Those are your driving principles. You’ll be more likely to work towards those goals if they align with your values and how you want to lead your life.
Keep Your Board Where You Can See It
The main way vision boards can help us achieve our goals is by looking at them. Keep them somewhere you’ll be able to see weekly, if not daily. That constant reminder of what you want to accomplish will give you the kick you need to work those plans and accomplish your goals.
