Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, which means overpriced roses and candle lit dinners for some, but for the single ladies out there it means an epic Galentine’s Day party.
Here are some tips to throw a Galentine’s Day party so fun that your dating friends will want to be in attendance.
Pick a theme
Obviously the theme is Valentine’s Day, but pick a specific design scheme to give the whole room unity during the event. Is it more sophisticated with dark red and crystal? Or is it the cute and classic Valentine’s Day theme with bright pink and massive hearts? Once you decide on a theme that fits your audience, carry that theme into everything including food and decorations.
Get creative with the invites
DIY-ing or buying some cute Galentine’s Day cards would really set your party apart. Not that there’s anything wrong with texting, but it shows that you took the effort past a little evite or text message. Not to mention a cuter invite will be much more official, fun and appealing. This step does take some pre-planning, so no stress if you don’t have the time.
Put those food recipes to the test
Depending on what type of party you are throwing, you are going to need food to match the theme and level of sophistication, but have fun with it! Invest in some cute heart-shaped cookie cutters or get creative with pink icing and Valentine’s Day sprinkles. The internet has endless Valentine’s recipes from over the top to super basic.
Decorate everything
This step is super important to achieving a top notch party. Use the theme that you’ve already set for your event and go crazy with the decor! If you’re on a budget, it’s super easy to make homemade decorations that look as good as the store-bought ones. Create a fun display for your food or a cute centerpiece for your table with rose petals or fun cut-out heart garland. This can be as much or little as you want.
Make a playlist
Music is probably one of the cheapest and easiest ways to create a particular atmosphere. So whether you are trying to make your party sophisticated, inspiring or fun, make a playlist that goes along with that theme. There are also playlists already put together on certain apps that will most likely cater directly to whatever music you want for your event, and could save you a lot of time!
Create an activity for the night
If you want to do a nice dinner and dessert as the activity that works great! Or maybe you want to throw a little dancing in the mix, or maybe a game. Just about anything works, but you really want to make sure that you have a plan for your girls. The last thing any hostess wants is her friends and guests feeling bored during the event or wanting to leave early.
