Most of my readers know me as a stationery designer and shop owner, but I am also a boss babe! Owning a business takes a lot of work, determination and dedication. As I have grown in my business, my boss babe community has grown. I have loved getting to know other women who have passions of their own that they have turned into successful and wonderful businesses. To better serve those dreamer and doers, I have decided to start adding resources, tips and more to my blog created specifically to my fellow boss babes! Don’t worry, you’ll still be seeing lots of weddings, stationery, and event design ideas too but even if you don’t run your own business, I hope you’ll find these new “boss babe” posts useful!
Staying on top of it all can be a challenge, but thanks to the latest apps and technology there are a few resources to help balance those daily to-do’s. From inbox hacks to social media management, I have everything you need. So open up the app store and get ready to download my favorites.
Inbox When Ready for Gmail™
This Google Chrome extension is a gamechanger for managing your time effectively in your inbox. Do you ever feel tempted to continually check your inbox for the latest message only to realize it is junk mail? Turn off that temptation with Inbox When Ready. You can lock yourself out of your inbox during certain times of the day or hide that looming inbox number from your website tab. This also encourages batching your email inbox review, minimizing in the time you waste on messages.
CamScanner
Create digital copies of the important printed document with CamScanner. This phone application can help you easily scan, share and store all types of documents. From your driver’s license to product invoices, you can keep track of those pieces of paper. You can also sync your documents so they are available on multiple devices! CamScanner can also be used to fax documents for those who still use the old school way of document sharing.
Loom Screen Recorder
Sometimes it’s just easier to explain stuff via video instead of through a novel of an email. Loom can be set to record your entire screen, a browser tab, or just through your computer camera. This is great for sharing a workflow process with your team or steps to using the latest software. Also perfect for team training! Once you are finished recording, Loom provides you with a direct URL to the video. No more uploading a screen recording to a separate drive! Your tutorial is ready to roll right away with Loom.
Planoly
Is Instagram a huge part of your business? Do you struggle with keeping up with a consistent posting schedule? Meet Planoly. This app and desktop site is the solution you need. You can import a whole library of images and schedule content in advance within the application. Planoly also has an auto-publishing feature! No more having to post in “real time.” Save time by batching your social media scheduling weekly.
Canva
If you aren’t a graphic design pro, you must try out Canva. This website and app can help you create graphics for your social media, website and more. With pre-created templates and stock images, Canva simplifies the design process, making anyone a professional. If you are going to create a Canva account, I recommend giving Canva for Work a shot too! While a regular account is free, this paid plan has a lot of features that are extremely helpful for creating and organizing branded graphics for your business.
Audible
Wish you had more time to read the latest business books? Same here. Sometimes it is a little too difficult to take the time to sit down and read, but we all have the time to at least listen. During your daily commute or wrapping up making dinner for the family, listen to that “must-read” with Audible. #Lifehack tip: Listen to your books at 2x speed to really crank through them.
Hope these apps help you take on the day! Being the boss babe that you are, you’ve got this!
