Well 2017 has been quite the year! Personally, the hubs and I celebrated our first year of marriage and joined the world of parenthood as we welcomed our baby boy into the world in October (3 weeks early!). Creations By Sasha had an amazing year as well. We got to be a part of eleven weddings this year and worked with couples all over the country.
Here is our 2017 Year in Review, in photos and just a few words! You can check out more of each photographers work by clicking their names to go to there websites when available.
We started our year in April where we got to design invitations, a seating chart and menus for Jamila and Gary’s Kate Spade inspired wedding. I loved everything about this wedding. It was classic and beautiful and looked amazing.

Next up, we worked on two Memorial Day Weekend weddings. First up was Dominique and Jerome, where we designed custom signage, escort cards, and favor stickers for their beautiful Baltimore wedding. Fun fact – Dominique was one of the planners who worked on my own wedding!
That same weekend we celebrated a literary themed wedding for my own maid-of-honor, Melisa and her hubby Chris. Melisa and Chris got married a the beautiful George Peabody Library in Baltimore, MD. It was an honor to create their wedding invitations.

June brought one of my most favorite designs for Sydney and Kyle’s nautical themed wedding. Sydney had amazing ideas for her stationery and we got to bring those to life through her invitations, menus, table numbers, programs, escort cards, and custom signage.
In July, we celebrate J + B’s amazingly dapper 1920’s inspired wedding in the heart of DC. This couple let me be creative in designing their invitations, custom signage, and custom napkins!

We were able to get a little bit of a break in August but revved right back up in September where we celebrated two wedding, both out of the country! First up was Roxanna and Brett’s wedding at the gorgeous El Convento Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The hubs and I actually stayed at this hotel which is in the heart of Old San Juan during our own honeymoon so I was super excited to design custom invitations for this couple. Luckily their wedding took place right before Hurricane Maria hit, which has devastated the island. If you are interested in helping the recovery, I suggest the Unidos, by the Hispanic Federation.
Later in September, our stationery traveled to Jamaica for Tierra and Aaron’s wedding. We had the privleage of designing both their invitations and their wedding programs. An added bonus – groom Aaron works with my hubs!
October was a crazy month! While prepping to give birth, we celebrated Leah and Calvin’s geometric inspired wedding. Our invitation design actually inspired many of the designs used throughout their wedding day. This was such a fun and unique design and color scheme and was fun to design.

While I was days away from giving birth, I finalized design details for two November weddings. First was Erica and Maurice where I got to design some fun Nationals baseball inspired escort cards.
We closed out November with Kimberly and Michael’s classically beautiful wedding. Kimberly gave me the pleasure of designing their save-the-dates, invitations, and menus. Everything about her wedding was classic and timeless.
Lastly, we closed out the year with Brigitte and Jordan’s wedding in Nashville, Tennessee. Brigitte’s mom actually reached out to me for ticket style invitations for her daughter’s wedding. The couple had gotten married earlier in the year in California but wanted to celebrate with family and friends over the holidays in their hometown. This was another one of my favorite designs.
While I’ve been off the past three months getting to know my little one, I’ve been able to reflect on the amazing year we’ve had at Creations By Sasha.
As my last blog post of 2017, I’d like to take a moment and thank all the amazing couples that allowed me to take part in their special day. Weddings are truly personalized events and I always feel honored to have the privilege of designing unique and custom designs for couples that reflect who they are.
I’d also like to thank all of the wonderful planners and photographers that I work with who recommend me to their awesome couples and who capture my designs beautifully.
Here’s to 2018!
