Tis the Season for Winter Weddings! Smart brides will look to winter months to say “I do” as there can be considerable cost savings during the off season (confession – I’m not one of those smart brides – my wedding is smack dab in the middle of wedding season!). As the temperature drops, as I’m sure it’s doing somewhere (just not in the Washington, DC) area, let’s talk about winter wedding trends. More so, how can you incorporate the season into your wedding plans.
Consider putting any of these ideas to use:
Put up mistletoe in the photobooth.

Turn your photobooth into a kissing booth! Your guests will love it and, you never know, you could end up inadvertently playing matchmaker for your single guests. Or you could put it over a discreet place and surprise guest with a candid shot. Go for that extra sophisticated look and spring for the real deal (your florist should be able to help). If you want to keep it more playful, you can also incorporate other seasonal elements in your props like snow flakes, Santa hats, or snowman noses.

Make it metallic.
As the popular Christmas song “Silver and Gold” goes “Everyone wishes for Silver and Gold“! Incorporate this into your special day by decking out your tables in both metallics, which will provide a chic, holiday feel without resorting to green and red decor, which can look less elegant. And with dramatic metallics, you may be able to save a little bit on other decor items since the linens themselves will make a huge statement!

Trim the flower girl and ring bearer.
There are few things more darling than seeing the little ones walk up the aisle before the start of the ceremony. If your having little ones at your wedding you can be more flexible in their attire (because let’s be honest, they won’t really protest!). Incorporate the season by trimming their outfits with festive accouterments — flocking, bells, even angel wings, and your sure to wow your guests.
Adding any of these touches can take your winter wedding to the next level and add a special something for those that love the idea of winter nuptials!!
