This past weekend I spent a little time away with the bf on a somewhat “stay-cation”. While we didn’t get to make it to the beach, plenty of people in the area made their way to Ocean City or Rehoboth for relaxing by the water. Summer time means nice long relaxing days at the beach. Hopefully, while you’ve been there, you’ll have had the opportunity to collect some lovely souvenirs in the form of seashells and sea glass. So what’s the best way to incorporate the sea in your summer get-together? Here are some unique ideas
Mermaid Mirror
This project will definitely make you feel like the fairest siren of them all. For this project, you’ll require a mirror with a frame. Next, gather all the sea glass and seashells you’ve collected from your beach trips. You’ll need enough to cover the frame or enough to create your desired pattern. Then, glue your shells and glass unto the frame part of the mirror until you’re satisfied. If you only have a small collection of seashells and glass, you can use this same technique to decorate a picture frame.
Seashell Candle Centerpiece
It’s time to transform your tea candles into “sea candles.” Begin by filling an empty hurricane vase with your seashells and sea glass until it’s a third full. Pour some water into the vase is half way full. Finally, simply add a floating candle into your vase and you have a lovely ocean inspired table centerpiece.
So enjoy your days at the beach and keep collecting some more souvenirs from the ocean. They’ll create the perfect piece for your summer party.
