Hop on the yellow brick road and get ready to travel to Emerald City! The world-renowned color experts at Pantone recently selected 2013’s color of the year – EMERALD. And when Pantone selects a color you can be sure you’ll see it everywhere – in weddings, home decor, fashion and more. I am actually a big fan of jewel tones, including emerald. It is (as Pantone says) “A color of elegance and beauty…”
If you want to look like royalty, emerald and gold is the perfect way to go and is the perfect combo for warm, elegant weddings. This is one color combination that you can’t go wrong with. These two colors can’t really overpower the other so think big and bold when pairing them together. You’ll create a dramatic effect that will really wow others.
Another great color combo that utilizes emerald is it’s pairing with black and white. These colors together create a more modern take yet still create that elegant feel. I also encourage you to go outside of the box and consider using grey. You’ll get a similar effect that won’t be as harsh.
If you want to create a more complementary and fun look for your wedding day, think emerald and navy. If you want to be a little out of the ordinary, pair emerald and navy with purple and you’ll create a beautiful peacock look.
Emerald is a great color for weddings and you can be sure that you’ll see it popping up throughout the year.
